The Price anniversary celebration trip to the Dominican Republic is now officially over :-( and we are back in the good ol' U. S. of A! But, what better way to feel as though our toes are back in that sand than to share our pictures and stories!!
First, a little background information. September 10, 2013 marked the anniversary to two very special Price couples. We celebrated our 2nd and Chad's parents, Bruce and Peggy, celebrated their 30th! For those of you who may not recall in our little programs at the wedding, one of the fun facts was that we were getting married on their special day, 28 years apart....cool, huh? Well Bruce and Peggy had yet to go on a honeymoon and wanted to do something this year....soooo....when in doubt, go to a tropical, all-inclusive getaway and drink and eat too much! Hence, the Dominican Republic Anniversary Getaway 2013. (you could picture in your mind the booming announcer voice as you read that last statement).
We did however, get a quick late night swim in:
Much of our days would be spent on the resort hanging out, taking naps, eating and drinking. However, we took two days to spend some time off the resort on a couple of excursions. The first one we ventured out on a catamaran for some sailing up the coast, snorkeling and swimming in the prettiest of waters, for the day. Tons of sun and tons of fun!
Our other adventure would land us scaling up the mountain through the Dominican country side to go Zip lining. By far this was my favorite experience and would sooooo do this again without thinking twice about it! Soooo cool!
On Wednesday night, the hotel put this little dinner together on the lawn for couples that were celebrating their honeymoons, anniversaries, 2nd time to the resort, etc.). This was probably one of the best meals and the weather was GORGEOUS. Such an enjoyable time, not only because we weren't sweating and overheating (most restaurants failed to use their air conditioning)...but we had really great conversation with Bruce and Peggy!

Every night we got to dress up and experience each restaurant of Mexican, Italian, Seafood, Gourmet and Japanese themes. On our anniversary night we splurged and went with a fresh seafood dinner (it was meh....and so not worth the extra money).
**sidenote: our all inclusive drinking included fruity drinks made with rum or vodka, and two different draft beers, which, really only meant 1 because the other was not worth drinking. This was good for about the first 3 days....but then after a while, you just didn't know what to drink...although the guys mostly stuck with el Presidente for their beer/drink of choice. I guess, beggers can't be choosers.

Now, for a little reminiscing and cheesy talk here. It was truly an enjoyable experience getting to see how in love that these two are after 30 years of marriage! As we told them while we are there, they are a true testament to what love, faith and hope are all about with marriage. And, as they said, it takes work and determination to make it work to be successful at it. Spending time with them made me realize, even more, just how we want our marriage to be...and that we should continue to focus on building our foundation for our family and for us.
As far as we go, it's crazy to think about all the changes we have already experienced in our first 2 years together as husband and wife. Although, moving to Louisiana was not in my top 5 choices to live, it was the right decision for us. We have grown together so much because of the adventure we have embarked on. I feel as though we grow stronger each day as we learn to live in a new place, experience more with each other and open our minds and hearts to this adventure we are taking, all the while falling even more in love. We are blessed to have good, stable jobs, a roof over our heads and the ability to do things like, go on a trip to the Dominican Republic. And, just so you know, we wouldn't be the people we are today or where we are at in our lives without the guidance, love and support of you all....so THANK YOU!!

So, now that the excitement is over with, we are now back to eating good ol' American cheeseburgers, watching football and drinking American beer (Probably no el Presidente for a while) and settling into normalcy. Which, although it was vacation, I am exhausted and glad to be back in a routine!
I will post a whole album of pictures for everyone to look through on facebook....I probably could have filled the whole blog with them!!
Hope this finds everyone well! Feel free to leave some comments!!
